RDX XM203 B.O.S.S. Unit Support
B.O.S.S. Unit Double Firing (Per single shot)

If you find the XM203 firing twice for every single shot made on the airsoft gun, here is the reason.

The signal to activate the XM203 relies on a positive signal coming from a trigger contact. This is normally taken from the airsoft gun trigger.

If the gun's motor is running inefficiently or there is not enough power to drive the motor efficiently then the signal being sent by the gun is on longer than the rate of fire on the XM203.

Here is an example.

XM203 Rate of Fire (RoF) or Rounds per Minute (RPM) is set to 850.

60sec / 850rpm x 1000ms = 70ms Per Shot

This means the motor has to do one complete shot within 70ms, however, Airsoft guns can be very inefficient on semi-automatic. A single shot with an inefficient motor or a low-powered battery can have the first shot at 80-90+ms.

This is where the problem occurs. If the shot is not completed under 70ms then the XM203 thinks you are firing "Auto" so it will then fire another shot.

To fix this issue you can do 3 things.

  • Reduce the RPM until the double-firing disappears as the XM203 RPM is low meaning the length of each shot is greater than the cycle time of the motor.
  • Increase the Power of the battery.
  • Improve the efficiency of the motor/gun.

This is not a common occurrence and is unfortunately out of our control.
